PULLMAN, Wash. (Jan. 7, 2026) – Washington State University Head Football Coach
Kirby Moore Wednesday announced five more additions to his first staff in Pullman, all in off-field positions.
Joining the Cougar program will be
Dan Van De Riet (chief of staff), Danile Platz (director of player personnel),
Ella Guerrero (director of recruiting operations),
JR Blood (director of recruiting strategy) and
Jake Morgan (director of scouting).
Below are brief overviews for the new staff members:
Dan Van De Riet – Chief of Staff: A veteran of more than two decades in collegiate football…spent past two seasons as chief of staff at Michigan State and previous seven in a similar role at Oregon State…spent three years at Nebraska as Associate AD for football operations and previous 14 years in first stint at Oregon State in football operations.
Daniel Platz – Director of Player Personnel: Has spent past three years working for
Kirby Moore at Missouri as a graduate assistant in player personnel department…graduated from Missouri with degree in statistics and certificate in sports analytics.
Ella Guerrero – Director of Recruiting Operations: Arrives in Pullman having spent the previous two years as the assistant director of recruiting operations at the University of Missouri, working closely with
Kirby Moore…also worked two years as student assistant in Baylor Football recruiting department.
JR Blood – Director of Recruiting Strategy: Arrives in Pullman having spent the past five months as an NIL marketing and athlete relations coordinator with Every True Tiger Brands, which works closely with Missouri football. He also spent the previous year as a personnel scouting assistant for Missouri football…was a quarterback on the 2024 Missouri team after four years at Southern.
Jake Morgan – Director of Scouting: Has worked in the football scouting/personnel department as a student assistant the past four seasons at the University of Missouri…his duties included identifying and evaluating potential prospects, analyzing and film breakdown for position coaches.
