Galanopoulos & Garcia Rosado Named to Impact Coaches List

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State men's basketball assistant coaches George Galanopoulos and Pedro Garcia Rosado were named to the Silver Waves Media 100 Most Impactful Mid Major Assistant Coaches and General Managers list, the organization announced Monday.

Both Galanopoulos and Garcia Rosado have assisted head coach David Riley each of the last two seasons in Pullman. Galanopoulos has led WSU defensive schemes, while Garcia Rosado guides the Cougars on the offensive side of the ball.

"Silver Waves Media have seen numerous coaches rise to Division-I head coaches…featuring some of the most outstanding and impactful assistants and GMs in Division-I men's basketball," the organization added in the release. "After consulting with a panel of industry professionals, here is the 2026 selections."

Galanopoulos, who developed in the NBA and G League, working in player development, assistant coach roles, and ultimately as a head coach. Each of the first two seasons under Galanopoulos the Cougars have posted top-10 program marks in total rebounds and steals. In his first season, WSU's rim-protectors swatted away a combined 165 shots, tied for second-most in school history.

Garcia Rosado, a native of Spain, has coached across Spain, the United Kingdom, and Iceland before arriving in the United States. In three seasons as an assistant coach, Garcia Rosado has overseen the development of an NBA lottery pick in Cedric Coward. Last season, the Cougars reached a fourth-consecutive postseason, while setting program records in total shots made (968) and total assists (574), more than any previous team in school history.
