Alex Nestor Named Soccer Assistant Coach

PULLMAN, Wash. – Alex Nestor was named an assistant coach for the Washington State University Soccer program, WSU Soccer Head Coach Chris Citowicki announced Wednesday.
 
Nestor arrives in Pullman following two seasons as the head women's soccer coach at Division-III Penn State Brandywine. In 2025, Nestor led the Lions to a 6-8-1 record, a five-win improvement from the 2024 season and the United East Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, the first postseason trip in its Division-III era.
 
During his first year with the Lions, Nestor was charged with leading Brandywine through its first season as a member of NCAA Division III and the United East Conference. He earned his first collegiate coaching victory on Sept. 17, a 2-1 triumph over Penn State Hazleton.
 
Nestor arrived at Brandywine following a four-year stint at The Tatnall School in Wilmington, Delaware. While at Tatnall, Nestor spent four years coaching the boys' team and two as head coach of the girls' team. The 2023 Delaware State Private School and Delaware Independent School Conference Coach of the Year, Nestor led the boys' team to its first winning season in 12 years.
 
In addition to coaching at Tatnall, Nestor served as the Director of Goalkeeping for Delaware FC and as an assistant coach with the Delaware Ospreys of the Women's Premier Soccer League.
 
Following three years as a member of the men's soccer team at Division III Gettysburg College, Nestor began his coaching career at the County College of Morris in 2018. He also spent time as a full-time youth development trainer with the New York Red Bulls prior to moving to Massachusetts, where he was the head boys soccer coach at Falmouth Academy and a trainer and goalkeeper coach at the Liverpool FC International Academy and New England Revolution for one year.
 
Nestor possesses a USC GK-3 diploma and FA Talent Identification Level 1 certification and is currently pursuing his USSF B license.
 
A 2019 graduate of Gettysburg College, Nestor earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics.
