MADISON, Wis. – The Washington State women’s golf team completed the second round of the Badger Invitational Monday at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison Wisconsin. The Cougars finished 36 holes tied for eight with Boise State in the 16-Team field. Sophomore Kaitlyn Helm led WSU for the second straight day, shooting a 73 (+1) and sitting tied for 10th overall.
Helm recorded a pair of birdies on the back nine, birding the par-4 15th and par-5 16th holes on her way to a 73. Helm has now carded a 72 and 73 through the opening two rounds to lead the Cougars.
Sydney Bisgrove matched Helm with a 73 (+1), giving the Cougars their two lowest scores of the second round. Bisgrove birdied the fifth and ninth holes on the front nine before adding another birdie on the 16th. She sits at 147 (+3) through two rounds.
Freshman Madalyn Gubernick carded a 77 (+5), bringing her tournament total to 151 (+7). Gubernick birdied the seventh and ninth holes and made the turn at one-over.
Senior Sara Pineros finished the second round with a 78 (+6) and sits at 152 (+8) through two rounds. Pineros birdied the second hole and made the turn at two-over. Grace Rubelsky rounded out the Cougars squad with an 83 (+11).
