GOLD RIVER, Calif. (October 26, 2024) – The Washington State women's rowing team wrapped up competition at the Head of the American on Lake Natoma Saturday afternoon.

"The team grew by leaps and bounds today," said Head Coach Jane LaRiviere. "They were consistent and composed. I'm looking forward to next weekend!"

The Cougars had a strong day on the water with top-10 finishes across the board. In the women's collegiate eight race, the WSU 1V8 placed fourth in 17:29.90 while the 2V8 boat came in 11th in 17:55.70 out of 34 boats.

In the women's collegiate fours, the Cougar V4B placed third in 20:36.50, and the 4VA finished sixth in 21:01.80 among 16 boats.

In the largest women's collegiate race of the day with 44 boats was the pairs that saw the WSU B pair place third in 20:15.10. The C pair finished in 11th (20:48.60), followed by the D pair in 12th (20:55.00), the E in 14th (21:01.10), A in 16th (21:14.20), F in 19th (21:16.20) and G in 31st (21:38.10).

The Cougars will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule next weekend at the Head of the Lake on Sunday, November 3 on Lake Washington in Seattle.
