SPOKANE, Wash. (October 19, 2024) – The Washington State women's rowing team wrapped up their first competition of the season including wins in the women's collegiate eight and four events.
 
The Cougars won the collegiate eight race in flight two in a time of 18:12 while the novice 'B' boat placed fourth in the race. WSU also won the collegiate four in flight one with the 4VA finishing in 19:22, and the 4V 'B' boat placed third in 22:43.
 
In the collegiate eight race in flight one, the WSU 1V8 placed third in 16:35, with the 2V8 in fifth (16:58) and the 3V8 in ninth (17:21). In the novice eight race, the Cougs placed second in 20:07.

The second flight opened with the 4V1 placing third in 19:47 and the 4V2 in fourth in a time of 19:49.

The day ended with a pairs race that saw the WSU 2C place fourth in a time of 20:17, the 2A and 2B tie for seventh (20:33), the 2E tied for 11th (20:53), 2D tied for 16th (21:09), 2H in 21st (21:57) and 2G in 22nd (22:19).
