PULLMAN, Wash. (Jan. 29, 2021) – Washington State Baseball finalized its 2021 schedule, head coach
Brian Green announced Friday.
The Cougars are set to host six home series including five Pac-12 Conference series highlighted by the home-opener against Stanford along with home series against UCLA and Washington in May.
Washington State opens the season with its first 24 games on the road beginning with a four-game series against UC Davis (Feb. 19-21) out of the Big West Conference. The two schools last met back in 2008 where they split a four-game series in Pullman. The following weekend will see the Cougars head to St. George, Utah for a four-game series against Dixie State (Feb. 25-28) who begins their first season in Western Athletic Conference.
WSU will open the month of March with back-to-back weekends in Seattle starting with a three-game series at Seattle U (March 5-7) followed by a pair of matchups against both Seattle U and Washington (March 11-13). The Cougars continue their trip around the Pacific Northwest with a nonconference contest at Portland (March 17) followed by a trip to Corvallis to open Pac-12 play at Oregon State (March 19-21). In late March, Washington State will wrap up the road stretch with a pair of games at UNLV (March 23-24) and Arizona State (March 26-28).
The first week of April will see the Cougars host Stanford (April 1-3) to open the new-look Bailey-Brayton Field and the completion of Project: Back To Omaha. Following a midweek matchup at Utah Valley (April 7) and a weekend series at Utah (April 9-11), WSU hosts a nonconference contest against Gonzaga (April 13) and a weekend series against Arizona (April 16-18). In late April, WSU will face California (April 23-25) in Berkeley followed by a meeting with Gonzaga (April 27) in Spokane.
The Cougars will host four series in May beginning with an eight-game homestand against Oregon (April 30-May 2), Seattle U (May 5), UCLA (May 7-9) and against Portland (May 11) before traveling to USC (May 14-16). Washington State will host a nonconference series May 21-23 against an opponent that will be announced at a later date and will close out the regular season hosting The Boeing Apple Cup Series against Washington (May 27-29).
Throughout the 2021 season, Washington State Athletics will continue to abide by all health and safety policies and protocols that follow campus, Pac-12 Conference, NCAA, local, state and federal guidelines, as well as national best practices.
