Wells Jr. Leads the Cougars at Don Kirby Elite

Emmanuel and Charisma Taylor both turn in record performances Saturday.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Washington State University Track and Field program saw record performances from both the women's and men's sides at the Don Kirby Elite inside the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Charisma Taylor continued her stellar indoor season as she broke the WSU Freshman Indoor record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.30 overall. Taylor placed sixth overall in the triple jump as well at 41-feet 1/2 inches (12.51m). Jordyn Tucker anchored WSU in the 60m dash with sixth place finish, as she ran a 7.56 in the finals.Â

Emmanuel Wells Jr. showed no signs of slowing down this indoor season, as he posted a 60m dash time of 6.55, moving him up to number one all-time in Washington State history, and set a WSU Indoor record in the event as well. Wells Jr. sees his impressive time jump up to second overall in the nation currently, and fifth overall in the world. Emmanuel's 60m time of 6.55 is also the 12th best all-time in collegiate action. Jake Ulrich continued to show off his speed this season as well at this meet in the 400m, placing third overall with a time of 47.03.Â
