Women's Golf Set to Play Colorado State in Preseason Match

THIS WEEK
The Washington State women's golf team heads to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete against Colorado State University head-to-head Sunday Feb. 10. The matchup takes place at the Canyon Gate Country Club with the initial tee-time at 9 a.m. with the teams playing 36 holes on the day.
THE MATCHUP
Colorado State completed their fall schedule with an eighth place finish at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, carding a two-over, 290. Ellen Secor, a junior for the Rams, carded a three-under, 213, to place 16th. Senior Katrine Prendergast finished the tournament in 18th with a two-under, 214.
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN
The Cougars last competed in early November against a tough Pac-12 field with several nationally ranked teams. Led by the play of junior Marie Lund-Hansen, the Washington State women's golf team finished 11th at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview hosted by the University of Hawaii. Lund-Hansen carded a three-over, 222, tying for 25th place with No. 60 Bianca Pagdanganan from No. 14 Arizona. Redshirt-sophomore Emily Baumgart also had a good showing for the Cougars, carding a 225(+6).
COUGARS INK THREE TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT
Three incoming student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent to the Washington State women's golf team. The 2019 signing class is comprised of Darcy Habgood (Nambucca Heads, Australia), Ji-Ye Ham (Thailand), and Janine Surge (Seattle, Wash.). Habgood joined the Cougars this January and will make her collegiate debut alongside her new teammates in Las Vegas this week.
COACHING STAFF
The Cougars are led by 10th-year head coach Kelli Kamimura, who guided the women's golf team to 11 program records, a tournament title, and an individual NCAA berth in the 2017-18 season. WSU alumna Emma White is entering her fourth season as an assistant coach, competing for the Cougars from 2010-13.
COMING UP
The Cougars will open up their spring tournament season in Peoria, Ariz. where they will compete in the Westbrook Invitational Sunday, Feb. 24 – Monday, Feb. 25.
