Derek Bayley Competes at Pacific Coast Amateur Championship

Bayley shot 9-over par to finish tied for 31st.Â
PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State men's golf rising-senior, Derek Bayley, finished tied for 31st at the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship, July 18-21 at Chambers Bay at University Place, Wash.
Bayley (Rathdrum, Idaho), shot just 1-over par (72) in each of the first rounds, before finishing 9-over par, 293, in four rounds to tie for 31st. Bayley compiled 10 birdies over the four rounds. Doug Ghim, a rising-senior at Texas, won the championship after shooting 9-under par, 275.Â
Bayley leads a group of seven returning golfers for the 2017-18 Washington State men's golf team. The Cougars open up play September 11-12, hosting the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge.Â
