BERKELEY, Calif. – Washington State dropped a 9-5 Pac-12 Conference contest at California Sunday afternoon.

The Cougars (14-11, 1-5 Pac-12) received a two-run home run from sophomore left fielder
Justin Harrer but California (12-13, 4-5 Pac-12) recorded 13 hits and took advantage of two WSU errors. Harrer finished with a pair of hits and three RBI while
James Rudkin recorded one single to extend his on-base streak to 22-straight games.

California pushed four runs across in the third inning off of junior starting pitcher
Cody Anderson, taking advantage of one error and using four hits in the frame. The Bears then added three in the sixth and two more in the eighth.

WSU received the two-run homer from Harrer in the eighth, his third of the season. In the ninth, the Cougars plated three more on RBI-singles from
Jon Burghardt and Harrer before another run came across on
Danny Sinatro's RBI-fielder's choice that made it a 9-5 game. The Cal bullpen recorded the final out with a groundout.

Anderson suffered the loss after allowing four runs, two earned on six hits in three innings.
