The Lions jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, using a leadoff walk and four hits to push three runs across in the second inning off of Cougar starter
Ryan Walker. The LMU bats stayed hot in the third inning with three hits including a two-run triple and later added three runs in the fourth and six more in the sixth inning to pull away for good.

Washington State scored a run in the fourth on Clanton's RBI-groundout and another in the sixth on Rudkin's RBI-groundout to shortstop.

WSU pushed a run across three runs in the eighth inning as
Dillon Plew scored on a wild pitch,
Ryan Ramsower scored after
Danny Sinatro was hit by a pitch with the bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and Teegarden brought home another run with an RBI-groundout.

A.J. Block was impressive in his collegiate debut, striking out the side in the eighth inning. Walker took the loss after allowing 10 earned runs on 13 hits in four innings.
