Cougars to Close Out Fall Play

THIS WEEK: The WSU men's golf team is set to conclude fall play at the Saint Mary's Intercollegiate in Monterey, Calif., Nov. 6-8. The tournament is in it's 11th consecutive year, and is in it's third at the Poppy Hills Golf Club.

THE COURSE: The collegiate will take place at the Poppy Hills Golf Club. The course has co-hosted the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am from 1991 to 2009. Teams will play 54 holes over 7,002 yards. The course is also a par 71.

THE FIELD: The tournament will host 18 schools, including host Saint Mary's, Arizona, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Stanford, Texas State, Toledo, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Southern California, University of Texas-Arlington, and Washington State.

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: The Cougars representing WSU will include senior Zach Anderson, juniors AJ Armstrong and Grant Cole, and sophomores Daniel Kolar and Nicklaus Chiam.

LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: WSU finished in sixth place at the Wyoming Southern Dunes Invitational. The team marked a three round score of 879(+15). Junior AJ Armstrong and sophomore Daniel Kolar each tied for 10th place after finishing with an even 216.
COACHING STAFF: The men's golf team is led by second-year head coach Dustin White, a WSU alum who golfed for the Cougars from 1999-2003…assisting White is Chris Gilbert, a second-year assistant coach with four years of collegiate and three years professional golfing experience.
