WSU finished just one and a half points behind 10th-ranked Stanford.
WSU CAREER: In the fall of SOPHOMORE (2011-12) year competed with the junior varsity eight and the varsity four...competed with the second varsity eight and defeated Gonzaga, maintain control of the Fawley Cup...varsity eight defeated Oregon State. capturing the Crawford Plate and the third consecutive Winchell Cup...honorable mention Pac-12 All Academic...competed as a member of the novice team during FRESHMAN (2010-11) year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner in track and field at Auburn Riverside High School...two-year letterwinner in lacrosse...also competed in soccer and cross-country at ARHS.
PERSONAL: Emily Kay Starkel...born in August of 1992...father Todd graduated from Washington State and now works as the Buckley Nursery Project Manager...mother Kelly is a para-educator in the Auburn School District...brother Andy...uncle Steve, cousin Charissa, and grandfather Max are all graduates of Washington State...grandfather Max was a pole vaulter on the WSU track and field team...enjoys violin, hiking, and camping...interested in pursuing a degree in civil engineering at Washington State.
