Brad Hutchins serves as deputy director of athletics and chief revenue officer for Washington State Athletics, bringing more than two decades of experience in revenue generation, brand strategy, external operations and executive leadership. As a member of the senior leadership team, he guides revenue generation and external strategy, including the Cougar Athletic Fund (CAF), communications, equipment operations, licensing, marketing, name, image and likeness (NIL), sponsorships, ticketing, retail initiatives and strategic partnerships, including relationships with Nike and Playfly Sports. He also serves as the sport administrator for men’s golf and secondary sport administrator for football.
Since joining Washington State in August 2025, Hutchins has brought a driven, growth-focused approach to Washington State Athletics, building new revenue streams, developing strategic partnerships and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and growth. He led the CAF’s efforts to secure funding for the Fan Enhancement Project and launched the football locker room renovation while expanding opportunities across sponsorship, fundraising, licensing and retail. His efforts helped Washington State Athletics secure the largest annual corporate sponsorship agreement in its history through an all-sports jersey patch partnership.
Before arriving at Washington State, Hutchins spent six years at the University of Oregon as director of brand activation, where he led branding, licensing, design, retail and NIL initiatives while managing strategic partnerships with Fanatics, Nike, Columbia Sportswear and Disney. He led university efforts that brought to life several campaigns, including Duck Friday, Grateful Ducks, the Eric Emanuel collaboration, the Cactus Jack collaboration, Disney throwback football uniforms and the “Grass Is Damn Green in Eugene”.
Prior to Oregon, Hutchins dedicated more than 14 years to the University of New Mexico, culminating in his role as deputy director of athletics for external operations. There, he directed marketing, communications, ticketing, licensing, concessions and multimedia rights while securing major gifts and corporate partnerships, creating new revenue streams, and leading revenue initiatives.
Previous experiences include American Heart Association, Buffalo Bills, Missouri Valley Conference, and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
Hutchins earned a bachelor's degree from Missouri State University and a master's degree in sport administration from Canisius College. He and his wife, Michelle, have two children, Amira and Connor, and a Great Dane, Rose.
