Biography

WSU CAREER
JUNIOR (2022):
Started nine of the Cougs' first 10 matches of the season and averaged 1.34 blocks/set while helping to hold opponents to just .121 hitting (295-187-893) to begin the season... She tallied a career-high nine blocks vs. Fairleigh Dickinson (9/10) before going down with a season-ending injury vs. 22nd-ranked Pepperdine (9/16).

SOPHOMORE (2021): Made her first start of the season at Colorado (10/14), setting career-best numbers across the board with her first career kill and first career service ace... Tallied six digs in her first full match in the Cougars' lineup vs Colorado (10/14).

FRESHMAN (2020-21): Sat out the season with a redshirt.

BEFORE WSU:
HIGH SCHOOL: Michelle attended La Salle College Prep where she lettered four years as a member of the volleyball program...During her time with La Salle, Zhao earned a number of accolades which includes a 2019 Second Team All-League selection, a 2018 First Team All-League selection, 2018 varsity Most Valuable Player award, 2017 varsity Most Valuable Player award, 2017 First Team All-League, and helped lead her squad to a Hacienda League Championships in 2017 as well.

PERSONAL: Born November of 2003...Daughter of Michael Zaho and Mary Yang...Has one sister, Shirley Zaho...Enjoys playing the piano and the guitar, along with singing...Looking to pursue a degree in anthropology and/or communications while attending Washington State University.
