Jordan Davis begins his first year on Head Coach Jake Dickert’s staff, serving as an offensive analyst.
Davis arrived in Pullman having spent the past the past four seasons at the University of Incarnate Word under Head Coach Eric Morris, the Cougars’ current offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Davis joined the Cardinals staff in 2018 as the wide receivers coach in the spring of 2018. He was promoted to assistant head coach/wide receivers coach in the spring of 2020.
During the 2021 season, Davis coached wide receiver Taylor Grimes, who earned multiple All-American honors in 2021 and was named Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year after setting single-season records for receiving yards (1,145) and touchdown receptions (15). The prior season Davis mentored all-conference receiver Robert Ferrell, who led the team in catches (35), yards (474) and six touchdowns, the latter setting a school record in just six games due to the shortened season.
In Davis’ second season with UIW (2019), the Cardinals won five games and broke numerous program records. Davis guided WR Kam Williams to four consecutive 100-yard receiving games, with a season-best 146 and three touchdowns on six catches against Texas Southern. His four-consecutive 100-yard games rank second in program history, while his three TD catches against TSU tied a program record for a single-game.
Davis was part of a staff that engineered the most successful year in program history, marked by a Southland Conference championship and a berth to the FCS Playoffs. UIW, who was 1-10 overall and 1-7 in SLC action in 2017, had one of the best turnarounds in program history with a 6-4 record (six wins ties the program record).
Davis helped guide UIW to multiple season records, including total offense (5,315), total points (357), and touchdowns (48).
Senior wide receivers Kody Edwards (932 yards) and Phillip Baptiste (905 yards, first team All-SLC) each set records on the outside in 2018. Baptiste broke single season program records in receptions (59), receiving touchdowns (9), and receptions per game (5.36), while Edwards set program bests with five 100-yard receiving outings and 1,389 all-purpose yards. Edwards also broke the program record for career receiving yards (2,353) and receptions (140), and he tied the program record for receiving touchdowns (14).
Prior to UIW, Davis was an offensive graduate assistant at Texas Tech University, where he worked closely with Morris, then the offensive coordinator for the Red Raiders, during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
In 2017, Davis helped guide TTU to a top-10 national ranking in passing offense. The Red Raiders also ranked 16th in passing offense, averaging 474.6 yards per game, including 333.7 yards through the air. Texas Tech played in the Birmingham Bowl to conclude the 2017 season.
Davis also helped the Red Raiders to a nation-leading 566.6 yards of total offense and 463 passing yards per game in 2016.
Prior to his time as a graduate assistant, Davis played for the Texas Tech for three years. He recorded 43 receptions for 398 yards and two touchdowns for the Red Raiders.
In 2011, Davis played for Southwestern Oklahoma State, where he appeared in 11 games and made 20 receptions for 225 yards with a team-leading three touchdowns.
Davis graduated from Texas Tech with a bachelor’s degree in university studies in 2014 and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2017.
