WSU CAREER
SOPHOMORE (2025): Competed in six meets during her second season at WSU… Finished in second at the WSU Alumni Open (8/29/25) with a 4k time of 13 minutes and 9.8 seconds… Ran a personal best 6k at the Gans Creek Classic (9/26/25), finishing in 6th with a time of 19 minutes and 20.8 seconds… Finished 21st at the Nuttycombe Invitational (10/17/25) in a competitive field… Returned to the podium at the WCC Championships (11/1/25) for the second straight season, finishing in 20 minutes and 1 second… Finished sixth at the West Regional (11/14/25) with a 6k time of 19 minutes and 31 seconds… Competed at the National Championships (11/22/25), finishing the 6k in 19 minutes and 41.5 seconds.
FRESHMAN (2024): In the first race of her collegiate cross country career, Cheptoo ran a 13:05.2 4K which secured her the victory… At the Cougar Classic, she ran a course-record time of 20:04.0 to win back-to-back races to start the year… She ran a 20:22.7 6K to finish in 2nd at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals… At the WCC Cross Country Championships, she finished in 3rd with a time of 20:06.3… Cheptoo ran a personal best time of 19:46.8 at the West Region Cross Country Championships to finish 10th and qualify her for the National Championships… In her first National Cross Country Championships, she ran a 20:08.8 and finished in the top-50 racers in the country.
BEFORE WSU
Placed runner-up in the Spring of 2019 at the Kenya Secondary Schools Championships, running a 10,000m time of 35:55.3... Finished runner-up at the 2021 Nairobi Kenya World U20 Trials in the 5,000m (15:46.2) as well as the 3,000m (9:01.67)... Ran the 2023 Urban Trail de Lille (11/18) where she placed ninth in the women's 10k at 31:42.
