Earned eight varsity letters at West High, three in football and basketball, and two in track and field...two-time team captain under head football coach Bob Garmen...SENIOR year named all-state first team and offensive player of the year...on the basketball court was a first-team all-state and all-region player...JUNIOR season led team to the state championship game...second-team all-state fullback while basketball team captured 4-A state title...as a SOPHOMORE led his conference in rushing and was a first-team all-state selection at running back.
