1989 - WSU Athletics Director Jim Livengood announced the addition of women's soccer as an intercollegiate varsity sport to Washington State University.
• JUNE 14
1994 - Lisa Gozley was announced as the second head coach in Cougar history.
• JULY 7
2003 - Matt Potter named the fourth WSU women's soccer head coach in school history.
• JULY 17
1989 - Lisa Fraser was named Washington State's first head coach.
• JULY 29
1998 - Dan Tobias was named the third head women's soccer coach at Washington State.
• AUGUST 18
1995 - The Cougars received their first preseason national ranking, No. 20 in the Soccer America poll.
• AUGUST 21
2009 - Washington State opened its season with a 3-0 victory over Idaho in front of 1,007 at Lower Soccer Field. It marks the largest crowd to witness a Cougar soccer victory at home.
• AUGUST 22
2008 - Washington State opened its run to the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 victory at Montana on a goal in the first half by Kiersten Dallstream.
• AUGUST 26
1990 - Washington State opened the season with a 2-0 win over Western Washington, its first of a school-record 14 that season. Freshman Kim Lynass scored the game-winning tally in the 66th minute, the first of her school-record 83 goals in an illustrious career.
• AUGUST 30
1997 - Senior Shalli DeWitt and freshman Deka DeWitt became the first sisters to play as teammates for WSU and each scored as the Cougars knocked off Gonzaga 2-0 in the season opener at home.
2002 - Washington State began the season with a 2-0 victory over Minnesota in Missoula, Mont. The Cougars finished 11-7-2 and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
• SEPTEMBER 2
2000 - The Cougars began their run to the NCAA Tournament with a 3-2, double-overtime win at Utah. Katrina Stroh netted the game-winner in the 106th minute.
2005 - WSU trailed No. 11 Tennessee 2-0 in the 84th minute before rallying for a 3-2 overtime win. Megan Hyte score the game-winner as the Cougars equaled their highest ranked opponent defeated on the road.
• SEPTEMBER 3
1989 - Washington State played its first match in school history, a 4-1 over Whitworth in Pullman. Vicki Day scored three goals and added an assist.
1994 - Tina Walsh scored in the 83rd minute to provide the Cougars a 2-1 win over No. 9 Connecticut in the season opener. WSU went on to appear in its first NCAA Tournament that season and the Huskies were the tournament's top seed.
• SEPTEMBER 6
1993 - Kim Lynass scored in the 46th minute to give Washington State its first road victory over a nationally-ranked opponent, 1-0 at No. 13 SMU.
• SEPTEMBER 7
1991 - Kim Lynass scored in the sixth minute on an assist from Amy Wilson for the first goal of the season and the 100th in Cougar history during a 7-2 victory over Simon Fraser.
2003 - Nicole Wilcox capped a 4-0 win over Montana with the 500th goal in WSU history.
• SEPTEMBER 9
1989 - Washington State recorded the first shutout in school history. Vicki Day and Lisa Billington scored the goals while Nikki Johnson and Nichole Hudson combined for the shutout in goal.
• SEPTEMBER 11
1991 - The Cougars shut out Whitman 4-0 for their school-record 10th-straight victory.
• SEPTEMBER 12
1993 - Kim Lynass scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 75th minute, as WSU defeated No. 6 Stanford 2-1 in Pullman for its first victory over a top 10 team. The equalizer in the 28th minute was the 200th goal in Cougar history.
• SEPTEMBER 13
1992 - Kim Lynass registered the fourth, four-goal match of her career in a 7-0 victory over Gonzaga at Martin Stadium.
1993 - The 4-0-0 Cougars earned their first national ranking coming at No. 11 in the ISAA poll.
• SEPTEMBER 14
2003 - Rachel Rodrick scored an unassisted goal in the 75th minute to lift WSU past No. 6 Duke 1-0 in Winston-Salem, N.C., for Cougar Head Coach Matt Potter first victory over a nationally-ranked opponent.
• SEPTEMBER 15
1990 - Freshman Kim Lynass scored a school-record four goals and Washington State defeated Gonzaga 13-0 in Richland, Wash.
2002 - Wasington State won 3-1 at San Jose State and improved to 5-0-0, the best start in school history.
• SEPTEMBER 17
1993 - The Cougars drew 1,000 fans at home for the first time in school history when 1,027 witnessed the No. 11 Cougars play No. 5 Santa Clara.
2000 - Mariette Boyce tallied a pair of goals in a 2-1 victory over San Jose State in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and the Cougars notched the 100th win in program history.
• SEPTEMBER 20
1991 - Washington State posted its first win over a nationally-ranked team when the Cougars knocked off No. 20 Washington 3-0 at Martin Stadium in the WSU Invitational.
• SEPTEMBER 22
2002 - Alix Rustrum and Nicole Wilcox each tied the WSU school record with three assists in the Cougars' 8-0 win over Gonzaga. Rustrum added two goals for seven points, tied for fifth-best in WSU history.
• SEPTEMBER 23
1996 - Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Glazer became the first Washington State soccer student-athlete named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week.
• SEPTEMBER 24
1995 - Amy Chippendale scored two goals to lead Washington State past Arizona 4-1 for the first Pac-10 Conferecne victory in school history.
2000 - Beth Childs scored in the 41st minute of a 9-0 victory over Portland State for the 400th goal in WSU history.
• OCTOBER 3
1993 - A Washington State record attendance for a home match watched the Cougars tie No. 15 Washington 4-4.
• OCTOBER 5
1990 - Washington State defeated Seattle Pacific 4-0 at Martin Stadium in the first televised match in school history. Prime Sports Northwest carried the match on a tape delayed basis.
• OCTOBER 7
1997 - Freshman Deka DeWitt is named Pacific-10 Confererence Player of the Week.
• OCTOBER 15
2000 - Jessica Allen scored in the 66th minute with an assist from Katrina Stroh and Lindsey Jorgensen made eight saves as WSU knocked off No. 18 Arizona State on the road.
2004 - Alix Rustrum's first half goal and Katie Hultin's nine saves provided WSU a 1-0 win over No. 8 UCLA, the Cougars' first in school history over the Bruins in Pullman.
• OCTOBER 16
2005 - Carmen Anderson netted a goal, her second goal of the match, in the second overtime to lift WSU to a 2-1 win over No. 19 Arizona. Her first goal tied the match with one second left in regulartion.
• OCTOBER 17
2004 - The Cougars completed a home sweep of the Los Angeles schools with a 2-0 victory over No. 22 USC.
2008 - Tiara Pittman tallied the game-winner with the 1:11 left in regulation and No. 24 WSU defeated No. 13 California 2-1.
• OCTOBER 18
1996 - Lynette Dickerson scored an unassisted goal in the 66th minute to provide WSU a 1-0 victory over No. 16 California.
• OCTOBER 20
1991 - Goalkeeper Natalie McDowell made a school-record 20 saves and Washington State won 2-1 at Pacific Lutheran.
• OCTOBER 21
2001 - Katrina Stroh tallied the game-winner in the 61st minute and the Cougars won 2-0 at No. 19 California.
• OCTOBER 22
2006 - Allison Scurich and Kiersten Dallstream scored goals 19 seconds apart and WSU knocked off No. 18 California 2-0.
• OCTOBER 27
2002 - Kim Morgan and Shelby Brownfield scored goals in WSU's 2-0 victory over No. 11 California.
• OCTOBER 28
1990 - Kim Lynass tallied four goals in an 8-0 win over Evergreen State.

2004 - Washington State built a 3-0 lead in the first 16 minutes and held on for a 3-2 win over No. 12 Washington.

1990 - Washington State knocked off Gonzaga 4-1 in Spokane for its school-record 14th win of the season.
1991 - Kim Lynass scored four of Washington State's school-record 15 goals in a shutout of Gonzaga.
1994 - Washington State set a school record with its 10th shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory over No. 12 Oregon State in Pullman.
