JUNIOR (2017-2018) – Played 28 of WSU’s 31 games, notching nine starts…had breakout game scoring 11 points against No. 21 Saint Mary’s (Nov. 24) at the Wooden Legacy…shot 5-6 from the field in the game (.833)…had second double-figure scoring game with 10 points on a career-high 3 3-pointers at UTEP (Dec. 9) in first career start…added a then-career high 4 assists…grabbed a career-high 7 rebounds and dished out a career-high 6 assists, adding 7 points in WSU’s win over California (Jan. 13)…tied career high with 11 points at Colorado (Jan. 18).

PRIOR TO WSU – Spent two years as basketball captain at Tyler Junior College in Texas…as a SOPHOMORE (2016-17), played in 29 games for Tyler JC, averaging 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists, as the team went 24-5, falling in the quarterfinals of the Region XIV Tournament…shot .448 from the field...named All-Region XIV…as a FRESHMAN in 2015-16, led the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting .452 from the field in 28 games…had his best game of the season at Lamar State-Port Arthur, Dec. 5, 2015, when he put up 36 points on .632 shooting from the field including .750 from beyond the 3-point arc…named All-Region XIV. 

HIGH SCHOOL – Attended Village Christian Academy in Fayetteville, N.C., his senior year, where he earned one letter in basketball, being named the team’s MVP…spent his junior season at Quality Education Academy in Winston-Salem, N.C., where he earned one letter in basketball…played sophomore season at Fairmont HS where he received one letter in basketball…was named Robeson County Player of the Year, MVP and All-Region. 

PERSONAL – Born Kwinton Hinson, March of 1996 at Lumberton, N.C…father Wesley Hinson and mother Kristen Sturdivant…has four brothers and one sister…enjoys riding dirt bikes and listening to all kinds of music…intends to major in social sciences at WSU.
