FRESHMAN (2021-22): Earned First Team All-American honors as a freshman after finishing eighth overall in the women's javelin with a PR and freshman record mark (54.03m/ 177'-3") to qualify for finals at the NCAA Outdoor T&F Championships (6/8-11)... Was runner-up at her first-career conference meet after she finished second with a mark of 50.31m (165'-1") at the Pac-12 Outdoor T&F Championships (5/13-15)... Won the women's javelin at the Fresno State Invitational (4/29-30) with a mark of 48.84m, the WSU-UW Dual (4/22) with a mark of 49.80m, and the Hayward Premier (4/1-2) with a mark of 50.28m.
BEFORE WSU:
Valentina Barrios-Bornacelli is a javelin thrower from Barranquilla, Colombia. She set her personal record in the javelin event with a mark of 54.43m at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. She placed fifth overall in the event... at the U23 Pan Am Championships in Cali, Columbia she placed third overall in the javelin event with a mark of 51.46m.
