PULLMAN, Wash. (March 20, 2026) – Nick Lewis fired six innings and Washington State matched a season-high with 14 hits in a 7-3 victory over Grand Canyon at Bailey-Brayton Field Friday.

Five Cougars (8-12, 2-2 Mountain West) recorded multiple-hit games led by Ryan Skjonsby's three-hit game while Matt Priest hit a two-run homer to back Lewis who struck out five and allowed just three runs in six innings. August Richie struck out three in three scoreless innings of relief to earn the save.

Priest gave WSU a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in the third inning and the Cougars scored in the next three innings Richie worked the final three innings to close out the home-opening win.

WSU played at home for the first time this season after playing the first 19 games on the road.

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME
Priest hit a long two-run home run to left field in the third inning for his first career homer. WSU scored twice more in the fourth highlighted by Kyler Northrop's RBI-double to left field. Skjonsby drove in Mason Pirello in the fifth inning before Dustin Robinson and Ollie Obenours connected on back-to-back RBI-doubles off the right field wall in the sixth inning.

Lewis allowed just a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
