Spokane, Wash. – Evelina Sitnika and Nicole Yanasak set personal bests as the Cougs finish up their weekend at the Riverfront Invitational. Kaleena Narus also impressed this weekend, finishing in the top five of the Women's 3k, with a season-best time.
On Friday, Hanna Bailey finished 11th in the Women's 800m to start the Cougs weekend at the Riverfront Invitational. Bailey's time of 2 minutes and 20.98 seconds was just two seconds shy of a personal best time for the Junior.
Evelina Sitnika and Nicole Yanasak started WSU's Saturday at the Riverfront Invitational with two personal best times for the sophomores. Evelina Sitnika beat her previous personal best time by six seconds, finishing in 14th with a time of 5 minutes and 9.27 seconds. Nicole Yanasak smashed her old personal best by almost 10 seconds, finishing with a time of 5 minutes and 11.85 seconds.
Lashanna Graham finished in eighth in the Women's 400m with a time of 57.52 seconds.
The Women's 3000-meter wrapped up the weekend for the Cougs with three competing. Kaleena Narus was the highest finisher for WSU, finishing in fourth with a time of 10 minutes and 13.6 seconds. Jessica Duran and Lauren Hoyt also fought well, finishing in seventh and twelfth, respectively.
The Cougs will head back to the west side of the state next weekend to compete in the Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor.
