PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State Baseball finalized its 2027 schedule, head coach Nathan Choate announced Thursday.
The Cougars are coming off a 2026 Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship and the program’s first trip back to the NCAA Tournament appearances since 2010. WSU’s 2027 slate will feature games against four NCAA Tournament teams, a pair of road series at SEC and Big Ten Conference opponents and five home series including three during the 18-game New Pac-12 Conference.
“We are excited to announce our 2027 schedule. We once again are challenging ourselves early, with a very good non-conference schedule, highlighted with trips to Cal State Fullerton, Texas and Ohio State,” Choate said before entering his fourth season in Pullman. “While the conference schedule is limited, the new look Pac-12 is a great baseball conference and we are excited to welcome fans back to Bailey-Brayton this spring.”
WSU will open the season with a trip to California for a three-game series at Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 19-21) and a two-game set at UC Riverside (Feb. 23-24), both out of the Big West Conference. WSU leads the all-time series with Fullerton 7-5 and will meet for the first time since 2014 while owning a 12-7 all-time mark against UCR.
The Cougars will close out the opening month with a three-game series at Texas (Feb. 26-28) out of the SEC and coming off a College World Series appearance. WSU and Texas will face off for the first time since 2007 with the Longhorns leading the all-time series 9-5. The Cougars opened last season taking the first of a three-game series at eventual College World Series team Alabama.
WSU will stay in the state of Texas the following week for a midweek matchup at Lamar (March 2), who is coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance. The Cougars will wrap up their stay in Texas with three games at the College Baseball Series (March 5-7) in Cleburne, Texas. WSU took three of four against Iowa in Cleburne two seasons ago. In Cleburne, the Cougars will face Tarleton State (March 5), Texas-Arlington (March 6) and UTSA (March 7).
The following week will see Wazzu head to the Midwest for a three-game series at Ohio State (March 12-14) out of the Big Ten Conference before heading to Phoenix for a two-game set at Grand Canyon (March 16-17). WSU and OSU will be meeting for the first time since 1998 while facing GCU for the second-straight year after sweeping the three-game Mountain West Conference series in Pullman last season.
The Cougars return to Bailey-Brayton Field for a nine-game homestand beginning with a three-game series against Nevada (March 19-21), followed by a midweek nonconference meeting against Gonzaga (March 23), a three-game series against Bellarmine (March 25-27) and a two-game set against Seattle U (March 30-31). The following week will see the Cougars travel to Albuquerque for a three-game series at New Mexico (April 2-4).
WSU will open conference play in the new Pac-12 with a home series against San Diego State (April 9-10) after the Cougars split the six meetings with the Aztecs last season, capped by a win over SDSU in the Mountain West Conference Tournament Title game. Following a road contest at Portland (April 14) the Cougars will head to Corvallis for a series at Oregon State (April 16-18). WSU split its four meetings with OSU last season, splitting a two-game set in Pullman before meeting twice in the NCAA Eugene Regional where Nick Lewis’ complete game gave the Cougars a win in the opening game before the Beavers beat WSU in the elimination game two days later.
The next weekend will see WSU head to Seattle U (April 20) for a midweek matchup before heading to baseball-affiliate member Dallas Baptist (April 23-25) for a three-game conference series. DBU and the Cougars have split the previous four meetings and will play for the first time since 2011.
The Cougars will close out April and open May with a three-game home conference series against Gonzaga (April 30 – May 2). The following week will see WSU make a five-game trip to northern California for a game at San Francisco (May 11), a three-game conference series at Fresno State (May 14-16) and a single game at UC Davis (May 17).
The Cougars will close out the regular season hosting new Pac-12 member Texas State (May 20-22) for a three-game series at Bailey-Brayton Field. The Bobcats took three of four from WSU in San Marcos, Texas last season.
The 2027 Pac-12 Conference Tournament dates and location will be announced at a later date.
