WSU Men’s Basketball to Play Neutral Site Game in Everett in November
PULLMAN, Wash.– The WSU men’s basketball team will play the University of Hawaii at Angel Of The Winds Arena in Everett, Wash., on Wednesday, November 18 at 7 p.m.
This game gives WSU students, fans, and alumni located in Western Washington a chance to easily support the team by attending a game. The Cougs under David Riley have played numerous neutral site games, but this will be the first in Everett. This will also be the first Division I men’s basketball game hosted in this arena.
“We’re excited to bring Division I college basketball to Everett and give local fans the chance to experience it right here in their own community,” said Corey Margolis, Oak View Group’s General Manager at Angel Of The Winds Arena. “Events like this are what make our arena special, bringing our community together through shared experiences.”
This will be the fifth matchup between the Cougars and the Rainbow Warriors, with WSU holding a 3-1 record all time. The teams first faced off in 1969, but only played once between 1970-2020, until they met in Hawaii in December 2022. The Rainbow Warriors won that matchup, and the Cougs will be looking to get back its winning ways against them.
WSU enters its third season under head coach David Riley with almost a fully rebuilt roster, in a fully rebuilt Pac-12 conference. The Cougs brought in a plethora of transfers, headlined by Division-II Conference Player of the Year last season in Lazarek Houston. WSU has been high scoring under coach Riley and will look to continue that this season.
