Stanford, Calif. (Oct. 9, 2026) – Washington State Tennis returned for the second day of the ITA Northwest Regionals Championship, Friday, at the Arrillaga Tennis Center.
The Cougars started the day with doubles falling to California and Oregon 8-4 and 8-5.
Chisato Kanemaki started singles for the Cougars against Karolina Kozakova from Washington who is ranked eighth in the tournament, in the end falling short, 6-4, 6-4. Yura Nakagawa ended the second day of singles winning against her opponent from Elif Gunal from Saint Mary’s, finishing 6-3, 6-1. Harper also defeated her opponent, Aileena Hu from UC Davis, ending the day 6-2, 6-1.
WSU Tennis returns for day three of the ITA Northwest Regionals Championship October 10, 2026. Nakagawa will face Indiya McLeod from Pacific at 11:30 a.m. in the Main Draw. Harper will face Sonja Hadjipavlou from Santa Clara in the North Quarterfinals.
