Emily Lundgren is one of five finalists for the Seattle Sports Star of the Year, Women's Sports Award announced by the Seattle Sports Commission Thursday.

st Annual Sports Star of the Year awards will be held March 13 at 5 p.m. at the Seattle Convention Center Summit.

The Sports Star of the Year event is the Seattle Sports Commission's flagship annual celebration honoring Washington's top athletes, coaches, leaders, and sports stories. Established in 1935 by legendary sports editor Royal Brougham, this iconic awards show, often called Washington's biggest night out for sports, recognizes excellence across a wide range of categories, from Sport Star of the Year for men's and women's sports to special honors like the Royal Brougham Sports Legend Award, Humanitarian Award, and Sports Equity & Inclusion Award. The event brings together celebrated figures from across the sports world, engages the community through voting and festivities, and highlights both historic achievements and current accomplishments in the state's vibrant sports landscape.

As a junior last season, Lundgren had the best season in program history, winning multiple honors in both individual events and relays and leading WSU to its first unbeaten season.

- Led team with 23 individual titles 
- Best Finish at NCAA Championships in WSU history

Lundgren was the driving force in the Cougars' 8-0 season and impressive showing at the conference championships where she won the 200 individual medley and 200 breast events, helped the 200 and 400 medley relays to wins and was named the swimmer of the year. She was named an All-American in two events (100 Breast, 200 Breast) and posted the best finish by a Cougar at an NCAA Championships in program history after finishing sixth in the 200 breast. Along with setting four individual and three relay school records, she also earned Academic All-America honors while majoring in Digital Technology and Culture.
