On Sunday, September 6, the Roses take on the Ottawa Rapids in a battle for the top spot. Bennett starts the game off hot with a goal in the fourth minute to go up 1-0. The Roses strike again in the 17th minute from Pechersky with an assist from Elyse Bennett. Ottawa replies with a goal in the 30th minute. In the second half, Ottawa strikes again to tie the match up 2-2. In the 87th minute, Paquin scores, giving the Roses the lead at the death. This win gives the Roses a four-point gap at the top of the table.

Saturday, September 5, San Luis took on Necaxa away. Elaily started the match and played the full 90 minutes. San Luis struck first in the 23rd minute of the match from Daniela Delgado. And then again in the second half from Enyerliannys Higuera to make it 2-0. This win makes them third place in Group B, tied on points with second-place Guadalajara.

Saturday evening, Mace took on fellow Coug Reese Tappan and the Carolina Ascent. Mace started and played the full 90 minutes in a 3-0 loss to the Ascent.
Trinity Rodman | F | NWSL | Washington Spirit
On Sunday, September 6, the Spirit traveled to Portland to play the Thorns for the second time this season. Rodman started and played the full 90 minutes of the match. Sophia Wilson struck first with a penalty in the 18th minute, but the Spirit equalized with a penalty of their own from Tara McKoeown in the 59th minute. In the 80th minute, the Spirit took the lead from a close-range shot by Bethi, assisted by Rodman. This is Rodman’s sixth assist of the season. The Spirit remain second on the table, only two points behind league leaders Gotham FC.

In the clash with fellow Coug alum Maggie Mace, Tappan started and played the full 90 minutes. The Ascent scored three times in the first half, the 10th, 30th, and 38th. Tappan got a yellow in the 16th minute.

On the other side of the Thorns v.s. Spirit game on Sunday night, Morgan Weaver starts for the first time since returning from her ACL injury. She played in the first half before being subbed off before the second half. The Spirit won 2-1, with Bethi scoring in the 80th minute.
