PULLMAN, Wash. – Maxine Murphy was named one of the assistant coaches of the Washington State University Tennis program, WSU Tennis Head Coach Josh Graetz announced Monday.
Murphy brings years of experience as a tennis student athlete on the Palouse. In four seasons with the Cougars Murphy captained three. During her time in Pullman, Murphy earned two All-WCC first teams in singles and doubles. She was named PAC-12 player of the week and WCC player of the week for singles. Murphy also earned multiple WCC doubles team of the week. Murphy finished her WSU tennis career with a record of 55-45 in singles and 52-44 in doubles.
While playing for the Cougars Murphy was a Peer Academic Counselor (PAC), and was the Committee Chair Leader for the Student Athlete Association Committee. She graduated from Washington State University in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.
Murphy was born in Laguna Niguel, Calif. with Mom, Shelly and Dad, David alongside sister Cooper.
