FRESNO, Calif. (September 24, 2026) — Washington State women's volleyball swept Fresno State 3-0 (28-26, 25-18, 25-21) Thursday night, hitting .294 with 37 kills while holding Fresno State to a .088 hitting percentage.
WSU also finished ahead in blocks, 8-6, and put together separate runs of eight and seven consecutive points to pull away in key stretches.
Audrey Hollis led the Cougars with 10 kills while hitting .467 and added 14 assists, three digs, one ace and one solo block.
Mary Healy finished with nine kills, seven digs, two block assists and one ace.
Kambree Rodriguez recorded a team-high 12 digs and added three assists and one ace.
Livia Ward converted both of her attacks and finished with 12 assists.
Fresno State built a 9-5 lead in the opening set with help from three WSU attack errors, but the Cougars worked back behind kills from Ward and Madyn Cervellera and drew even at 11-11 on a Fresno State bad set. After the teams traded points to a 15-14 Fresno State edge, Hollis, Healy and Ward had kills in a 4-point WSU push that made it 18-15. Wazzu was still ahead 22-19 after White’s kill, but Fresno State came back to tie the set at 23-23 and later moved in front 26-25 on a WSU attack error. Emerson Matthews tied it with a kill, Kryssa Moerman and Whitney Dewicki combined on a block for a 27-26 lead, and a Fresno State attack error closed the Cougars’ 28-26 set win.
After Hollis and Cervellera put down early kills, WSU moved ahead 7-4 on consecutive Fresno State attack errors, but Fresno State came back to tie the second set at 7-7. Hollis answered with a kill, and WSU led 9-8 before a Fresno State service error returned the serve to the Cougars, where Cervellera served seven straight points, including two aces, while Healy added two kills in the run to 17-8. Fresno State scored the next three points and later got to 18-13, but Healy put down kills for the next two WSU points and a Fresno State attack error made it 21-13. White’s kill and Healy’s ace moved the Cougars to 23-15, and after Fresno State reached 24-18, Hollis finished the set with a kill for a 25-18 win.
WSU recovered from a 2-0 start in the third set with four straight points, including a Healy kill, a Rodriguez ace and a block by White and Dewicki, before Fresno State answered to move back in front 6-4. Fresno State kept the margin through the middle of the set and stretched it to 18-13, but the Cougars pulled back within 19-17 behind a Moerman kill and two Fresno State attack errors. After Fresno State reached 21-18, a service error gave Wazzu the ball back, and Hollis served the final six points as the Cougars tied the set, went ahead 22-21 on a block by Moerman and Matthews, and closed a 25-21 win with a Dewicki kill, Hollis ace and a final block by Dewicki and Moerman.
