PULLMAN, Wash (September 16, 2026) – Washington State women’s volleyball will open its Pac-12 slate on the road at Fresno State Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. and at Oregon State Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast live on Pac-12 YouTube.
ABOUT WASHINGTON STATE
The Cougars continue to boast one of the best defenses in the nation, entering the week ranking third in blocks per set, seventh in opponent hitting percentage, and 13th in total blocks - leading the Pac-12 in all three categories. While dealing with a handful of injuries, the resilience and depth of this squad has shone through to sit at 5-5 entering the first week of conference play.
SERIES HISTORY
The Cougars have played FSU six times in program history, and are 1-5 over that span. First meeting in 1982, WSU now enters their seventh all-time meeting looking or it’s first win over the Bulldogs since 2000. The Cougars are much more familiar with OSU, leading the all-time series 60-45, having won 11 of their last 13 meetings.
TRENDS AND MILESTONES
- WSU has recorded 8+ blocks in nine of 10 matches this season, and 12+ in six of them.
- The Cougars have held their opponents to below a .135 hitting percentage five times.
- Naomi White has notched 6+ total blocks in seven of the last nine matches
- Audrey Hollis has recorded 3+ kills and 15+ assists in five straight matches.
- Kryssa Moerman has recorded 4+ blocks in four of last five games.
BLOCK PARTY
Naomi White has been one of the premier blockers in the nation to this point in 2026. Her 1.76 blocks per set ranks third in the country, while her 65 total blocks rank fifth.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS
Senior middle blocker Naomi White was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9 after averaging 2.3 blocks and 1.4 kills per set, and totaling 20.5 points alongside 10 kills on a .308 hitting percentage against LIU (9/5) and Oregon (9/6).
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
The Cougars’ home court, Bohler Gym, is the premier volleyball-only venue on the West Coast. Its dominating home-court atmosphere has led to a .635 winning percentage (313-180) since 1991, and a .578 winning percentage (373-272) dating back to WSU Volleyball’s first varsity season in 1976.
FRESH FACES, NEW PLACES
11 of Wazzu’s 17 players on the roster are new additions this year, and each of the six returners from last season are entering just their second season with the program.
