COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (Sept. 21, 2026) – The Washington State men’s golf team continued play Monday at Coeur d’Alene National Reserve, finishing the second round tied in sixth place at 4-over par. The Cougars sit 19 strokes behind St. Mary’s (CA) heading into Tuesday’s third and final round.
Junior Dylan Burcham led the Cougars with a 5-under 67 and sat in second place individually after round one. Burcham caught fire on the back nine in round one, but that flame faltered out in the middle of the second round, as he finished with a 5-over 77, despite still knocking in three birdies.
Sophomore Dylan Boenning followed up his first round 70 by tallying five birdies for the second straight round to finish with a 73, placing him at a team leading 1-under par for the tournament.
Redshirt-senior Ben Borgida finished the opening round at 3-over with a 75 and sat tied for 30th. Borgida started the second round hot, going 3-under par through his first seven holes. Those would be the only birdies for Borgida for the round, as he finished with a 1-over 73, improving his score from the first round.
Junior Garrett Harrison carded a 2-over 74 in the first round with 12 pars, and followed it up with 13 pars in round two, matching his first round score of 2-over 74. Sophomore Finn McCall rounded out the Cougar lineup with a 4-over 76 in the first round, and carded a 2-over 74 in the second round. McCall dazzled on the back nine, turning in a 3-under par 33.
Three Cougars are also competing as individuals. In the second round Christian Flick carded an even-par 72, Jake Goyen turned in a 4-over 76, and Ben Mulder finished at an 8-over 80. In the first round, Goyen opened with an even-par 72, Flick carded a 3-over 75 and Mulder finished at 5-over with a 77.
Washington State returns to the course Tuesday morning for the third round of play, with the Cougars set to tee off at 8:30 a.m.
