Boise, Idaho (Sept. 18, 2026) – The Cougars started the first day of the Barb Chandler Classic with doubles action at the Appleton Tennis Center and Julia Davis Park Friday. The Cougars swept their opponents in three doubles matches and an afternoon singles match.
Freshman Gabriella Harper and senior Yura Nakagawa beat Boise State, 8-7 (4). Sophomore Ava-Monet Sycamore and senior Chisato Kanemaki also took down their Boise State opponents with an 8-2 win.
Nakagawa got the team started in singles in the afternoon, sweeping her Weber State opponent 6-2, 6-1. To end the day, the Cougars played an extra round of doubles, Clara Schön and Sycamore beating Weber State, 8-2.
