SEATTLE, Wash. (September 13, 2026) — Washington State women's volleyball lost to Washington 3-1 Sunday, falling 17-25, 25-22, 18-25, 20-25 at Alaska Airlines Arena.
WSU finished with 46 kills and a .228 hitting percentage, compared with Washington’s 61 kills and .289 mark. Wazzu recorded more total blocks, 9-6, and committed fewer attack errors, 15-18, but Washington finished ahead in digs, 66-60.
Kambree Rodriguez recorded 19 digs and added seven assists.
Naomi White finished with 10 kills while hitting .444 and added four blocks.
Audrey Hollis posted 15 assists, 15 digs, three kills and two blocks.
Whitney Dewicki tallied six kills, three service aces and four blocks.
Washington moved ahead 7-1 after a 1-1 tie behind the serving of its player, including three service aces, and kills by its players. WSU answered from 8-2, getting three White kills, a Madyn Cervellera kill and a Dewicki service ace to tie the set at 8-8, and Cervellera’s block brought it even again at 9-9. White’s kill and Dewicki’s second ace cut the margin to 19-16, but Washington reached set point at 24-16 and finished the set 25-17 after Cervellera’s late kill.
In the second set, Washington built an 11-7 lead after a kill by its player and three straight WSU attack errors, but the Cougs worked back within 15-13 on Cervellera’s kill and a block by White and Hollis. Wazzu took seven of the next eight points, getting kills from White and Healy, a Chloe Heimlicher ace and a Kryssa Moerman block to move in front 20-17. After a Washington kill, the Cougars finished the set 25-22 on an attack error with a block by Moerman and Dewicki.
WSU dropped the first three points of the third set, but a Washington service error and Rodriguez’s ace brought it within 3-2. White and Hollis kills helped the Cougs stay close, and a Healy kill followed by an attack error pulled the set even at 9-9 before the teams traded points to 12-12. Washington scored five straight with an ace and kills from its players to go ahead 20-13 and closed the set 25-18 on a kill.
The fourth set opened with four straight Washington points before Wazzu worked back into it behind Dewicki, who had three early kills and a service ace as the Cougars tied the set at 6-6. The teams traded points through the middle of the set, with WSU pulling even at 16-16 on kills from Moerman, Cervellera, Healy and White. Washington created separation after that last tie, moving ahead 21-17 and later reaching set point at 24-18 behind kills and blocks involving its players.
