Pullman, Wash. (Sept. 13, 2026) – The Cougar tennis team finished its third day of the Cougar Classic this afternoon at Hollingbery Fieldhouse, battling Idaho in singles to concluded three days of competition against the Vandals, Montana, and Portland in Pullman.
Freshman Gabriella Harper was the first to take a win this afternoon, defeating her Vandal opponent 6-4, 6-2. Senior Yura Nakagawa started the afternoon against Idaho, taking down her opponent 7-5, 6-1. Chisato Kanemaki also took down her Idaho opponent with a score of 6-4,6-2. Sophomore Ava-Monet Sycamore battled through a tiebreaker coming out on top in exciting fashion, final score being 4-6, 7-6 (10-7).
Up next on the tennis schedule the Cougars will travel to Boise, Idaho for the Barb Chandler Classic hosted by Boise State. Play will begin Friday, September 18, 2026.
