SEATTLE, Wash. (September 12, 2026) — Washington State women's volleyball defeated Southern Utah 3-0 Saturday, winning 25-22, 25-22, 25-11. The Cougars hit .253 while holding Southern Utah to .060 and used an 8-0 run in the third set to move from 16-10 to 24-10.
Whitney Dewicki recorded eight kills on a .353 hitting percentage, added a service ace and two block assists, and finished with 10 points.
Mary Healy also tallied eight kills, with one ace, three digs and one block assist.
Naomi White converted six kills without an attack error for a .500 hitting percentage and added four block assists and an ace.
Audrey Hollis finished with 17 assists, 10 digs, four kills and one block assist.
Kambree Rodriguez tallied 14 digs this afternoon, now sitting at 101 total digs this season.
WSU hit .253 with 37 kills, while Southern Utah finished at .060 with 28 kills and 22 attack errors. Wazzu also held a 39-29 advantage in digs, with the teams even at seven total blocks apiece. The match included extended scoring stretches for the Cougars, including runs of 7-0 and 8-0.
The Cougs erased a 19-14 deficit in the first set, using a Southern Utah service error and six straight points on Rodriguez’s serve to move in front 21-19. The run included kills by Dewicki, White and Madyn Cervellera, and WSU finished the set 25-22 when Healy put away a kill from Livia Ward.
Wazzu held off Southern Utah in the second set, using a White kill from Ward to reach set point at 24-22 before a teammate's kill finished the 25-22 set. Earlier, the Cougars built a 5-1 advantage with help from a White kill, a White ace and a block by teammates, but Southern Utah came back to tie the set multiple times, including at 19-19.
WSU broke open the third set with eight straight points from 16-10 to 24-10, including seven consecutive service points with a player at the line. Earlier, the Cougs erased a 5-3 deficit with four straight points, including back-to-back kills by Dewicki. Julia Dickeson closed the set with a kill from a teammate, giving Wazzu a 25-11 finish.
