PULLMAN, Wash (August 25, 2026) – Washington State women’s volleyball will open its 2026 season on Friday, August 28 against Omaha at 6 p.m. at Bohler Gym in Pullman.
The Cougars host the 2026 Cougar Invitational to begin the campaign, welcoming Central Michigan, Montana and Omaha to the Palouse. WSU will play Omaha on Friday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m., Montana on Saturday Aug. 29 at 5 p.m., and then Central Michigan on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. with streaming coverage available on the Pac-12 YouTube channel.
WSU has played Omaha and Central Michigan only once each in the history of the progam, sitting 1-0 all time against both teams. The Cougars are more familiar with Montana, leading the all-time series with them 16-15 in 31 meetings. Wazzu has won their last four matchups, most recently being a 3-0 sweep in 2014 in Missoula. Montana’s last win over the Cougs came in the 1990 season in the form of a 3-0 sweep.
The Cougars are coming off a 2025 season in which they went 17-11 overall and 11-7 in conference play their final year as an affiliate member of the WCC. WSU brings back six returners from the 2025 squad, including Eliana Ti’a, Livia Ward, Lauren Johnson, Maddy Joswick, Mary Healy and Kate Hayhurst to go with the team’s ten incoming transfers and one true freshman.
Ti’a joined transfers Kryssa Moerman (Middle Blocker) and Kambree Rodriguez (Libero) on the 2026 Pac-12 Preseason Impact List, while the additional nine newcomers include transfers Elma Bajraktarević, Madyn Cervellera, Julia Dickeson, Chloe Heimlicher, Audrey Hollis, Emerson Matthews, Ella Smith and Naomi White, along with true freshman Whitney Dewicki.
Head Coach Korey Schroeder enters his third season at the helm with some new faces on staff and on the court, including new Associate Head Coach Jeff Ross and Assistant Coach Keith Saito.
The Cougars enter the renewed Pac-12 Conference this fall partnering with Oregon State to welcome new members Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Texas State, and Utah State.
