Washington State women's volleyball is in Phoenix this weekend for the GCU Classic, taking on Northern Arizona on Friday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m. PT, host school Grand Canyon on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. PT, and then rounding out the weekend against East Texas A&M on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. PT.

ABOUT WASHINGTON STATE
After making their ninth straight postseason tournament appearance in 2024, the Cougs are returning six from the 2024 team, including Italia Bernal, Lucie Blažková, Keniya Cleveland, Haumea Marumoto, Taryn Vrieling and Kylie Wong. In addition to the returners, 12 newcomers have entered the program, including grad transfers Melina Christodoulou (Akron) and Camryn Lingenbrink (Tulsa); sophomore transfers Krista Dooley (Rutgers), Mary Healy (NC State) and Tinons Munar Galmés (Florida A&M); freshman transfer Kate Hayhurst (Kansas) and true incoming freshmen Eliana Ti'a, Jackie Carle, Lauren Johnson, Maddy Joswick, Ziah Sneva, and Livia Ward.

SERIES HISTORY
WSU will be seeing Northern Arizona for the third time in its history with the all-time series tied at 1-1, and Grand Canyon for just the second time after sweeping them in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023. The Cougs will be meeting East Texas A&M for the first time on Sunday.

PRESEASON RANKINGS
Washington State volleyball was picked to finish fourth in the Preseason WCC Coaches' Poll, tied with Oregon State, while redshirt-sophomore Lucie Blažková was named to the 2025 WCC Preseason Team.

UP NEXT
The Cougars have one final road non-conference tournament next weekend at the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass. WSU will play Harvard on Friday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. PT and Seton Hall on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. PT.
