When did you start competitively swimming?
Just before I was nine is when we were allowed to start competing in little meets for my club.
When did coming to Washington State become a possibility?
I didn't know that June 15th was a thing, that's the day everyone can start reaching out to you. I didn't realize that was a thing, and all of a sudden, I got all these emails. I replied to a few and had a few calls with coaches, and I had a call with one of the older coaches and I liked what she said about the team, the coaches, the culture and the way she was describing the way of life in Pullman.
What were your first impressions of Pullman?
Looking around the campus, I loved it, it was peaceful and green.
What is your favorite spot in Pullman?
Roost.
What's your go to Roost order?
The avocado toast with scrambled eggs is what I always get.
What's the biggest lesson you have learned in swimming?
Not believing in yourself is a huge killer, you can have all the support in the entire world, but at the end of the day, if you don't believe you can do something, you won't be able to do it.
What's your favorite thing to do to rewind from swim and school?
Lately the team has enjoyed going for hikes. We have been there a few times to get away and chill out.
What was the experience like competing in the Euro U23?
It was a massive learning curve. The last time I competed for GB I was still a junior. This was very much not a junior meet, everyone there was older than me. Junior meets they do everything for you, they take care of everything and drive you everywhere. The freedom was nice and the experience of learning to do things for myself was nice.
What are you excited about for this season?
We all want the same thing - we all want a mountain west title. Everyone is insanely motivated, and I think it's exciting to see how everyone's work pays off.
