Cross Country Heads to Gans Creek Classic

Columbia, Missouri (Sept. 26, 2025) – Washington State Cross Country heads to Columbia, Missouri, for the Gans Creek Classic this Friday at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The Cougar women will compete in the Women's Gold Race at 9 a.m. CT (7 a.m. PT), with the WSU men following in the Men's Gold Race at 9:45 a.m. CT (7:45 a.m. PT). Nineteen of the top 30 men's teams will participate in the gold race.
 
Washington State will compete with Air Force, Alabama, BYU, Butler, Colorado, Duke, Eastern Kentucky, Florida, Furman, Iona, Iowa State, Lipscomb, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Montana State, Navy, Nebraska, Northern Arizona, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland, Princeton, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Tulane, UCLA, Utah, Utah Valley, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest, and Weber State.

Last Time Out: Cougar Classic (Sept. 12)
- Evans Kurui set a course 8k record for the second straight year at this event with a time of 22 minutes and 22.1 seconds, 20 seconds better than his time last year.
- Rosemary Longisa won the Cougar Classic with a meet record time of 19 minutes and 32.3 seconds.
- Caroline Jepkorir and Nicole Bissell rounded out the top 3, with all the top 8 finishers running for WSU.
- Solomon Kipchoge ran an 8k time of 22 minutes and 32.4 seconds, which also would have set a course record if not for Evans' time.
