Cougs Dominate Eagles in Sweep to Conclude Non-Conference Play

PULLMAN, Wash. – (September 19, 2025) –Washington State volleyball put on a show Thursday night in Pullman, sweeping Eastern Washington (25-15, 25-20, 25-15) to bounce back in commanding fashion at Bohler Gym.

The Cougars (6-4, 0-0 WCC) were sharp from start to finish, hitting .356 as a team while holding the Eagles to just .143. WSU controlled the net with 11 blocks and fired in nine aces from the service line, dictating play in every phase.

Lucie Blažková led the charge with 13 kills on .455 hitting, while Mary Healy added nine kills at a .467 clip and three blocks. Melina Christodoulou chipped in seven kills, and Camryn Lingenbrink hit .400 with six kills and five blocks in the middle.

Italia Bernal spread the offense with 26 assists, two aces, and six digs, while Livia Ward added 11 assists and two blocks. Tinons Munar Galmés anchored the back row with 13 digs, and Eliana Tia added nine digs plus two aces.

The Cougars set the tone early with a dominant first (25-16) and second (25-11) sets before grinding out the third (25-23) to complete the sweep.


NOTES
  • Mary Healy saw career-bests with her .500 hitting percentage and two service aces.
  • Eliana Ti'a also had a career-best hitting percentage (.476).
  • Blažková had two solo blocks, giving her 50 for her career, two shy of entering the WSU all-time top-10 list.


UP NEXT
The Cougars stay in Pullman as they open WCC play, hosting San Francisco on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. and Santa Clara on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
