MÁLAGA, Spain – Adrià Rodriguez, an incoming senior from Barcelona, Spain, will join the Spanish National Team for its exhibition tournament August 5 and 7 in Málaga, Spain, the federation announced last week. Rodriguez will compete for the senior national team's 'B squad' – a selection of young, rising Spanish players mixed with experienced veterans – in a four-team, two-day event featuring two Spanish national teams, the Portuguese national team, and the Czechian national team.

The 'España B' team will face Czechia, formerly the Czech Republic, Tuesday, August 5 at 6 p.m. local time at Málaga's Palacio de los Deportes, followed by 'España A' against Portugal at 9 p.m. The teams will return Thursday, August 7 with Rodriguez's side facing Portugal at 6 p.m.

Rodriguez is a 6-foot 4-inch guard has played the last two seasons professionally with Lucentum Alicante in the Spanish second division, Primera FEB. The lengthy guard played 34 games in the 2024-25 season for the Valencian club, averaging 8.1 points per game for the first time. Rodriguez shot over 52% from 2-point range and 38% from beyond the arc, while dishing out 2.7 assists per game and grabbing 1.4 steals. The incoming Spaniard will classify as a senior, as a 22-year-old born in 2003.

The exhibition matches coincide with conclusion of WSU men's basketball's schedule international trip to London and Spain, July 24 to August 5, including a stop in Málaga – part of the Cougars' first tour abroad in 10 years.

The exhibition tournament is part of the European national teams' preparation for EuroBasket 2025, the quadrennial international competition to crown a champion of FIBA Europe. Spain qualified as a top-2 team in group play, clinching a spot last November during qualifying competition.
