WSU Concludes NCAA West Championship

COLLEGE STATION, Texas –The Washington State women's track and field team concluded competition at the 2025 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field West First Round, Saturday, at Texas A&M University. In the final day of competition, seven Cougar women competed across four entries to conclude their 2025 outdoor season.
 
In the 1,500-meter quarterfinals, freshman Rosemary Longisa crossed the finish line at 4:17.15. Longisa qualified for quarterfinals with her performance in the first round, Thursday. The Kenyan finished 20th overall in her first outdoor postseason appearance.
 
The Cougar 4x100 relay team finished in 45.28 seconds at the national quarterfinals. The quartet of Zoe Ray, Ashley Hollenbeck Willems, Brooke Lyons, and Zakiya Hill placed 22nd overall.
 
Two Cougars ran in the 3,000-meter steeplechase quarterfinals with freshman Caroline Jepkorir finishing 30th in 10:26.91. Jepkorir ran ahead of sophomore Nicole Bissell, who claimed 43rd place in 10:56.63.
 
The Cougars' 2025 outdoor season will conclude at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, June 11-14, at Eugene, Oregon. WSU earned four entries to the national championship, comprising five student-athletes from the men's program. Junior Mason Lawyer will compete in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and participate on the 4x100 relay team, which set the school record at this weekend's regional championship. Sophomore Evans Kurui earned his first outdoor postseason bid and will compete in the 10,000-meter final, June 11.
