COLLEGE STATION, Texas –The 2025 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field West First Round continued Thursday at Texas A&M University with the Washington State women's track and field team competing in nine events. Freshman Rosemary Longisa clinched a spot in Saturday's 1500-meter quarterfinals, finishing fourth in her heat and 11th overall, to qualify with a time of 4:16.95.
 
The Cougars began the day on the field with senior Laura Lindquist throwing 46.91 meters to finish 22nd overall in her second-straight trip to the regional championship. Lindquist threw just ahead of fellow senior Luceris Suarez Pacheco. The Colombian tallied 46.15 meters and finished 26th in her NCAA postseason debut and conclusion to her outdoor college career.
 
On the infield, sophomore Tatum Moku cleared 4.17 meters on her first attempt at the pole vault pit, finishing tied for 20th in her second-consecutive postseason berth.
 
Sophomore Brooke Lyons ran to her second-best 100-meter dash of the season, clocking a 10.45 and finishing tied for 33rd in her individual postseason debut. Later in the evening, Lyons returned to the oval for the 200-meter dash, finishing 31st in 23.55, and will compete Saturday with the 4x100 relay team.
 
Sophomore Zenah Cheptoo and senior Alaina Stone Boggs concluded the evening in the 10,000-meter semifinal. Cheptoo clocked a time of 34:40.32, finishing 15th overall, but missing one of the 12 qualification spots by nine seconds. Stone Boggs capped her college career with a 36:15.39 finish in her second-career outdoor postseason appearance.
 
Graduate student Maya McCabe closed her college career with a bid in the 800-meter run for a second-consecutive season. McCabe finished in 2:20.41.
 
The 2025 NCAA West First Round continues tomorrow, Friday, May 30, with the conclusion of men's competition at E.B. Cushing Stadium. Five Cougars will compete in field events beginning at 11 a.m. PT before track events begin at 4 p.m. PT. Junior Mason Lawyer advanced to the 100- and 200-meter quarterfinals with fellow junior John Paredes competing in the 110-meter hurdle quarterfinals. Coverage of the day's track events will be streamed live on ESPN+.
