Johnstone Named All-Mountain West First Team, Cresswell Second Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 20, 2025) – Outfielder Logan Johnstone was named to the All-Mountain West Conference First Team and catcher Will Cresswell earned second-team honors, as voted on by the conference's coaches, the conference office announced Tuesday.
 
Johnstone is the first Cougar outfielder to earn first-team honors since WSU all-time home run leader Derek Jones earned All-Pac-12 first-team accolades since 2012. The redshirt-junior from Los Gatos, Calif. hit .337 with team-highs of 17 doubles, nine home runs and 17 multiple-hit games while his 40 RBI were second on the team. In conference play, Johnstone led the Cougars with a .387 average with 12 doubles, eight home runs and 27 RBI.
 
Cresswell is the first Cougar catcher to earn all-league honors since Jake Meyer was All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2021. The senior from Auburn, Wash. hit .329 with 13 doubles and five home runs along with a team-high 43 RBI and 10 multiple-RBI games while his 19 runners thrown out caught stealing led the league. During conference play, Cresswell hit .369 with eight doubles and five home runs while his team-best 37 RBI were fifth-most in the Mountain West. Cresswell closed his Cougar career with a career-highs in batting average, hits, runs, doubles, stolen bases, RBI and his five home runs tied a career high.
