Rowing Traveling to Gonzaga for 33rd Fawley Cup

PULLMAN, Wash. (April 18, 2025) – Washington State women's rowing has one more head-to-head regatta this weekend as they will head north to take on Gonzaga in the 33rd Fawley Cup at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 at Silver Lake.
WSU was most recently ranked at No. 25 in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) national poll on Monday, with Gonzaga dropping off the rankings after having been at No. 25 the week prior.
The Cougars hit the water Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with the 3V8+/4V8+ flight, followed by the 1V4+ at 9:10 a.m.
At 9:20 a.m., the 2V4+ will push off, and then the 2V8+ at 9:30 a.m., the 3V4+ at 9:40 a.m., and then the 1V8+ at 9:50 a.m. Rounding out the day at 10:00 a.m. will be the 3V8+/4V8+/5V8+ race.

About The Fawley Cup
The Cougars and the Bulldogs will once again be racing for the Fawley Cup. The cup has been handed out annually since 1991, except for 2008, to the winner of the First Varsity Eight race between WSU and GU. The Cougs have won 29 of the 32 Fawley Cup races since its inception.

The Cougars have their final tune up before conference championships next weekend at the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26.
