PULLMAN, Wash. (March 30, 2025) – Washington State Women's Tennis captured its fourth-straight victory, this time a 4-0 win over Pacific to remain undefeated in West Coast Conference play Sunday at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
 
With the win, their fourth-straight overall, the Cougars improve to 13-5 on the season and 3-0 in WCC play. Pacific falls to 4-11 overall, 0-3 in conference action.
 
WSU started strong by dominating doubles play. At the No. 3, The Cougar duo of Hania Abouelsaad and Martina Markov recorded a 6-0 win over Milena Maiorova and Rayna Sguia, while at No. 1 the Cougar pair of Eva Alvarez Sande and Maxine Murphy, ranked No. 41 nationally, c;licned the opening point with a 6-1 win over Megan Carmichael and Maggie Hoe. The match on Court 2 was stopped with WSU's Elyse Tse and Chisato Kanemaki leading Indiya McLeod and Alexis Sam, 5-2.
 
In single play, Tse made it 2-0 in favor of the Cougars as she posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Maiorova at No. 2. Kanemaki, at No. 4, put WSU within sight of the team win with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Sugai, setting the stage for Markov, who finished off a 6-1, 7-5 will over Hoe at No. 6 to clinch the match.
 
The three remaining matches on court were stopped with the team outcome decided. Alvarez Sande was leading Carmichael, 6-3, 4-4, on Court 1, Abouelsaad was up 6-1, 5-4 over McLeod on Court 3 and Puvill was close to closing out the win over Nahreen Cheam at NO. 5, leading 6-2, 5-2.
 
The Cougars are next in action Saturday when they travel to Los Angeles to face Loyola Marymount.
