Rowing to Open Spring Competition at San Diego Crew Classic

PULLMAN, Wash. (March 27, 2025) – Washington State Women's Rowing is at the San Diego Crew Classic at Mission Bay this Saturday and Sunday as the team launches into its spring schedule.
The Cougars push off Saturday morning at 9:52 a.m. PT in the first heat of the Varsity 8+ race with Saskia Steltman stroking and Vera Lichvarcik in the coxswain's seat the 1V8.
Next, the Cougs will run their 1V4 in the second heat of the Varsity 4+ race at 10:56 a.m. with Makayla Tuley leading stroke seat and Sara Torres on the headset. The 2V8 begins at 11:04 a.m. with Phoebe Nagy leading the Cougar shell and Sam Eden in the stroke-seat.
Wazzu's Saturday competition wraps up with the 2V4 at 11:52 a.m. led by Isabelle Delavoye stroking and Tiger Lily Brim in the coxswain's seat before finals racing starts on Sunday with the Varsity 8+ race at 9:30 a.m.
UP NEXT
After this weekend, the Cougars return home and will host Oregon State next Saturday, April 5 for this year's edition of the Winchell Cup on the Snake River at Wawawai Landing. The event is tentatively scheduled to start at 9 a.m. but is subject to change due to weather and wind forecasts.
