Logan Johnstone Named Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 24, 2025) – Washington State outfielder Logan Johnstone was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
 
Johnstone helped the Cougars to a three-game series sweep of San Diego State last weekend after hitting .667 (6-9) with two doubles, three home runs, six RBI and eight runs scored. The redshirt-junior outfielder slugged 1.889, had an on-base percentage of .786, had a hit, an RBI and scored multiple runs scored in all three games and did not strike out in the series.
 
In Friday's 13-3 run-ruled seven-inning win, Johnstone had three hits with a double, a homer, two RBI and three runs scored. In Saturday's 13-3 run-ruled eight-inning win, Johnstone reached base in all five plate appearances with a pair of homers and three walks with three RBI and three runs scored. Johnstone ended Saturday's contest with a two-run home run homer to right-centerfield in the eighth inning. The lefthanded hitter capped his weekend with an RBI-double, two runs scored, a walk and hit-by-pitch in Sunday's 12-5 win.
 
Johnstone enters the week hitting .307 with five doubles, five home runs and 19 RBI.
 
This is the second weekly honor for WSU this season after freshman second baseman Ollie Obenour was named the conference freshman of the week March 10.
